MNRF looks for culprit in Nipigon forest fire

Fire was started on August 2 at lookout.             

THUNDER BAY -- The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is asking for the public's help in finding out who set a fire last week on the outskirts of Nipigon.

According to an MNRF news release, local citizens discovered the fire at the Bald Spot Lookout which overlooks the town.

The Nipigon fire department was called initially.

On August 3, ministry fire rangers were called in to extinguish the blaze.

Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call the MNRF TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667 toll-free, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
