Moose shot and left to spoil

Conservation officers are looking for information to identify the person or persons responsible for shooting and abandoning a moose on Highway 527 near Walkinshaw Lake

THUNDER BAY - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is investigating after a moose was found shot and abandoned northeast of Thunder Bay.

According to the MNRF, conservation officers were notified of a cow moose left to spoil near Walkinshaw Lake.

The moose was located along Highway 527 approximately six metres from the roadway on the east side. After interviewing several witnesses, officers determined when the moose was shot.

Conservation officers are turning to the public for any information that could help identify the person or persons responsible for shooting and abandoning the moose.
