More restrictions lifting for Sioux Lookout recreation Centre

Capacity limits change for Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre and Arena.
Sioux Lookout

SIOUX LOOKOUT -- As public health measures continue to lift across the province, the Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre and Arena will change its capacity limits for non-spectator areas.

Starting Thursday, capacity limits for non-spectator areas of the Recreation Centre and Arena, including the Fitness Centre, will now be limited to 50 per cent capacity.

City officials say proof of vaccination will still be required.

"These changes will allow our members and our community greater access to the facilities," said recreation and culture manager, Rony Chakroborty, in a release. "We also look forward to expanding our programming in the coming weeks as things start returning to normal."

Enhanced proof of vaccination and other mandated requirements will continue to apply until at least Feb. 28.

The province intends to remove all remaining indoor capacity limits and lift proof of vaccination requirements on March 1.

More details will be available closer to that date.

City officials want to remind everyone to continue practicing physical distancing, wearing your mask, and washing your hands frequently.
