Motorcycle crash, boat accident keeps police busy near Nolalu

Officers from the Thunder Bay detachment of the OPP responded to a pair of incidents around Nolalu Sunday evening. The first incident involved a motorcycle the crashed off the highway at about 6:45 p.m.

Police say one man sustained serious injuries while a woman on the bike suffered several broken bones.

Shortly after that, OPP responded to a call about a collision between two boats on Whitefish Lake. One vessel carrying two American residents remained afloat, but the other one, with four area residents on board, capsized.

They were all rescued and there were no serious injuries reported.

A 29-year-old Thunder Bay man has been charged with operating a boat without a competency license.
