THUNDER BAY – Local residents have made their picks for the films that will be shown at this year’s Movie Nights in the Parks.
Residents voted on the films to be shown, which include Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Goonies, and Barbie.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) will be shown tonight (Aug. 15) at Boulevard Lake Park.
The Goonies (1985) will be shown on Aug. 22 at Vickers Park and Barbie (2023) will be shown at the Kinsmen Centre on James Street on Sept. 21 in conjunction with Neighbour Day.
“The three community-based movie nights have a pre-show start at 7 p.m. with outdoor games, trivia questions, and community programming, and the movie beginning around 8 p.m.,” the release said.
“Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, and beverages to enjoy the movie on the big screen. It is recommended to bring warmer clothes as it gets chillier in the evening.
"Come early for a great seat and to check out the pre-show community programming.”
