THUNDER BAY -- The suspects charged in connection with a Secord Street homicide case will seek to be released on bail later this month.

Monica Spence, 45, and Daniel Debassige, 39, are both charged with second-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 21, 2014 death of 62-year-old Richard Spence, whose body was found inside a Secord Street residence.

Monica Spence is the cousin of the victim.

Both Debassige and Monica Spence appeared via video in bail court at the Thunder Bay Courthouse Thursday afternoon and both were adjourned until Feb. 23 where they will have a bail review hearing in front of a Superior Court judge.

Police had confirmed on Jan. 2 that Debassige was the boyfriend of Monica Spence.

None of the allegations against either of the accused have been proven in court.
