Murder trial date set for next month

Two Thunder Bay women, accused of murder in connection to the death of a 30-year-old-woman, will not face their charges again until next month. Joanne Vivier, 33, and Michelle Morris, 28, both appeared in Provincial court on Tuesday.

Two Thunder Bay women, accused of murder in connection to the death of a 30-year-old-woman, will not face their charges again until next month.

Joanne Vivier, 33, and Michelle Morris, 28, both appeared in Provincial court on Tuesday. Police charged both women with first-degree murder in connection to the death of 30-year-old Verna Patricia Sturgeon of Big Trout Lake in September 2010. Police discovered the body of Sturgeon at the Travelodge hotel on Arthur Street.

Both accused were remanded to Feb. 18. The preliminary hearing will be in April.

Morris will also appear in court on Wednesday for robbery charges.
