Eric Lindstrom, accused of second-degree murder in connection to the death Richard Ouiment, won’t appear in court again until next month.

Lawyers involved in the case met briefly on Monday to set the matter to April 8. Police charged Lindstrom and Chris Gregorchuk with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 36-year-old Ouimet in 2009.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to an emergency call from an upstairs apartment in March 2009. The call reported that a serious assault may have taken place earlier in the week at a Norah Street apartment.

When officers arrived they were able to identify a possible crime scene that they believed might have resulted in a death.

A body was later found 150 kilometres north of the city.

Gregorchuk recently pleaded guilty to manslaughter and indignity to human remains in January.

Justice Helen Pierce sentenced Gregorchuk to 10 years in jail, and a lifetime ban on all weapons.

She awarded him a two-for-one credit for time served.
