THUNDER BAY -- The 124th annual Murillo Fair is kicking off this weekend, and organizers are promising a bigger and better event than ever before.

The fair kicks off Friday night with free admission. The rest of the weekend features a $5 entry fee with free parking.

The event offers a variety of horse racing and rodeo style events, vendors, and more for visitors.

Fair Organizer Sylvia Goodheart says this year will have some added attractions, as they're bringing back an old favourite for the younger spectators.

Goodheart says normally, about 10,000 people show up at the Murillo Fairgrounds throughout the weekend.

But they're expecting almost double that amount of attendees this year, because of the new attractions.
