Murray to raise Penguins flag in front of sports hall of fame

THUNDER BAY -- A day before he parades the Stanley Cup around town, Matt Murray will join local dignataries at the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame and raise the Pittsburgh Penguins flag to the sky.

THUNDER BAY -- A day before he parades the Stanley Cup around town, Matt Murray will join local dignataries at the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame and raise the Pittsburgh Penguins flag to the sky.

Murray will join Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs and a pair of Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame executives, president Diane Imrie and vice-president Harry Curtis at the ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday.

Murray will also be presented with a special recognition by the city during the brief ceremony.

The Penguins goalie will bring the Stanley Cup to Intercity Shopping Centre on Tuesday for a two-hour meet-and-greet and photo op from noon until 2 p.m.

The NWO Sports Hall of Fame is located adjacent to City Hall on May Street.
