The Nishnawbe Aski Nation has rejected a proposal aimed at addressing concerns surrounding student deaths in Thunder Bay.
Earlier this week, NAN called for a commission of inquiry to examine what has led to the deaths of seven First Nations students temporarily residing in Thunder Bay since 2000.
In response, the province offered to convene a series of meetings to discuss the issue.
But NAN Deputy Grand Chief Terry Waboose said no amount of meetings will accomplish the goal gaining a full and credible understanding of all seven deaths.
Waboose has renewed the call for a full inquiry into the issue.
