MARATHON, Ont - Ontario Provincial Police say a 42-year-old woman was killed late Thursday afternoon in a collision at the intersection of Highway 17 and Peninsula Road at Marathon.
Police said Friday that Natalie Gravelle of Marathon was driving an SUV that was exiting Peninsula Road when it was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer.
The transport truck had been in the process of passing two other tractor-trailers which were also eastbound on the highway but were in the turning lane to Peninsula Road.
Gravelle was pronounced dead at Marathon hospital.
The collision left the highway closed completely for about one hour, and closed to one lane for about eight hours while OPP collision specialists conducted an investigation.
