Nearly 400 evacuees return home, others still waiting for news

Another 400 evacuees from Northwestern Ontario have made the trip back home. All 281 Fort Hope residents who had been staying in Greenstone were brought back to their community Wednesday.
Another 400 evacuees from Northwestern Ontario have made the trip back home. 

All 281 Fort Hope residents who had been staying in Greenstone were brought back to their community Wednesday. The smoke from nearby forest fires that forced residents to evacuate for safety has now subsided. 

Another 110 residents of Sandy Lake First Nation were flown back Wednesday from Arthur, Ont., which is a community located near Kitchener. 

The other 1,500 Sandy Lake residents will remain in Thunder Bay and other evacuation centres until further notice.
