THUNDER BAY -- The foundation is up and there are now some answers as to what will be opening up at the corner of the Harbour Expressway and Carrick Street.
Westland Insurance will be re-locating their 23 employees from the current location on Red River Road and will set up in the new office on the same day.
Branch Manager Clare Kempe said moving to a central location is a dream come true.
“Being in the north core, there have been issues with parking and with our location. It can be a little bit harder to get to - especially for our senior clients.
"This move will give us a place where our clients are probably already shopping, and then we're right there to help them when they need us. It's like a win, win, win.”
Construction on the new location will likely wrap up in July or August.
The developer, Lou Meandro with Thompson Centres, confirmed that two-thirds of the commercial building will house Westland while the remainder will be a new Tim Horton's location.
