New housing starts up in June: CMHC

THUNDER BAY -- Some better weather was likely behind an upswing in new housing construction in June over last year.

THUNDER BAY -- Some better weather was likely behind an upswing in new housing construction in June over last year.  

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation officials say there were a total of 45 starts last month, compared with 31 in the same period last year.  

Of those new builds, 34 were for single-houses and 11 multiple-units.
