New ORNGE policy helps whistleblowers come forward

Ontario’s troubled air ambulance service has launched a new policy to make it easier for whistleblowers to come forward.

Ontario’s troubled air ambulance service has launched a new policy to make it easier for whistleblowers to come forward.

Officials with ORNGE announced Thursday the changes would make it easier for employees to report any concerns without the fear of reprisal.

Employees can confidentially make reports to the firm, which will investigate and determine if further steps are warranted.

Interim president Ron McKerlie says accounting and business advisory firm Grant Thornton LLP has been appointed as the independent ethics officer to oversee the policy.
