Thunder Bay has been chosen as a pilot location for training on how to deal with invasive species.
The two-year project is called the Early Detection and Rapid Response Network, and it aims to educate residents throughout the province on problem species.
A wide array of invasive insects and plants were on display at a public information session this afternoon.
This was the second open house held by the Invasive Species Centre and the Early Detection Rapid Response Network, to prepare residents on how to identify the culprits.
Project Coordinator Taylor Wright says Thunder Bay was chosen because more species are starting to spread towards the region.
Sherman adds that the next step is to have training sessions, sometime this fall.
