Nine new fires reported in the region, risk remains low

A total of nine new forest fires over the week in the Northwest. Officials with Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources say most of the new fires are lightning caused. Crews are working to put out all but two of them.

As we head into the weekend, rain in the forecast is keeping the Thunder Bay area in the low risk zone.
