THUNDER BAY -- People who use Greyhound or other bus services around the Northwest now have another three weeks to give their input on how the bus routes should be maintained.
The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association has managed to get the province's comment period extended, following the recent cuts to Greyhound service.
As of Sept. 20, the bus schedule between Winnipeg and Sudbury was cut in half, from two daily buses running each way, down to one. NOMA officials fear this will put a financial strain on both residents and the province. A public feedback process was made available by the province to hear the concerns, but NOMA vice-president Iain Angus believes no one knew about it. The fear now is that lack of knowledge will cause a repeat over the next three weeks.
Feedback can be left until Oct. 23 on the province's Environmental Registry website.
