THUNDER BAY -- The north end of Algoma Street will be closed to traffic sometime in the near future as the city begins Phase Two of a water main project near Boulevard Lake.
A staging area with piles of pipe has been set up on the parking lots at Boulevard, in preparation for the big job.
The intersection at Algoma and Gibson Street has already been closed to traffic.
Last year, the water mains underneath the parking lot at Boulevard were replaced, and now the work will continue underneath Lyon Boulevard and Algoma.
The major work is expected to begin next week.
The project is expected to take several months to complete.
