THUNDER BAY — A resident of Thunder Bay has been arrested and charged with child pornography offences.

City police arrested 57-year-old Scott William Giertuga on Thursday morning at home when a search warrant was executed.

Earlier this month, police had received information that a local internet user was suspected of breaching a prohibition order relating to children.

Investigators seized multiple devices in the home and found material consistent with child pornography.

The accused is charged with possession of child pornography, failure to comply with a probation order, and failure to comply with a prohibition order.

He appeared in court on Friday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
