Three Thunder Bay representatives will play a role on the Northern Policy Institute's inaugural board of directors.
Doug Murray and Madge Richardson have been named to the 10-person board. Lakehead University president Brian Stevenson and Laurentian University’s Dominic Giroux will serve as voting ex-officio members of the board.
The board is scheduled to convene at Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie for its first official meeting on Feb. 20.
A chair and vice-chair are expected to be elected during the meeting. The board will then be tasked with recruiting a Northern Policy Institute founding executive director.

- Martin Bayer (Sudbury)
- Thérèse Bergeron-Hopson (Timmins)
- Harley d’Entremont (North Bay)
- George Macey (Marathon)
- Hal McGonigal (Sault Ste.Marie)
