SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. -- The Northern Policy Institute has elected its first ever board chair and vice-chair.
The Institute's Board of Directors held its inaugural meeting Wednesday in Sault Ste Marie.
Martin Bayer, a partner with a law firm in Greater Sudbury, has been selected to serve as Chair.
Marathon's George Macey, who pushed for years to have the Policy Institute established, will serve as Vice Chair.
Half of the 10-member board are from Northwestern Ontario.
The organization will develop policy options unique to the North.
