More details about a house fire on Machar Avenue should be available Monday fire officials say.
Around 20 fire fighters responded to a blaze on the North side street Saturday afternoon. A pumper was still on scene Sunday as fire officials were in the process of securing the building, putting up fire tape, boarding doors and windows and putting up forensic seals.
Deputy fire chief Greg Haankio said a fire prevention team will try to go into the building Monday morning but members of the city’s building division will probably have to take a look first.
“The integrity of the building is questionable right now as far as us putting people in there to do the investigation,” he said.
Haankio said security on the building will be maintained throughout the night Sunday.
