Ontario Lottery and Gaming has launched a new initiative to find private sector operators for its gaming facilities.

It includes bundling operations in the various geographic zones to make the packages more attractive to interested parties.

The Thunder Bay Casion has been grouped with OLG operations in Kenora, Sault Ste Marie, North Bay and Sudbury, in what's being called the Northern Zone.

OLG started the process back in May, when it launched a Request For Information process to gauge the level of interest in the private sector.

OLG says the resulted in over a hundred responses.

And they say the process has clearly demonstrated bidders would prefer to group several operations together to help maximize efficiencies.

OLG has now grouped operations in the North and in eastern Ontario into two bundles and have asked for new expressions of interest from potential service providers.
