One COVID outbreak is over, while another one is expanded

There are currently nine publicly-disclosed outbreaks in high-risk settings

THUNDER BAY — A new COVID-19 outbreak has been declared in a section of the Hogarth Riverview long-term care home.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced the outbreak Monday in the Tulip resident home area (6S).

TBDHU described it as an expansion of the outbreak previously declared in the Rose resident home area (6N).

The health unit simultaneously announced the end of a COVID outbreak in a section of St. Joseph's Hospital.

It had affected 5 south, the Geriatric Assessment & Rehabilitative Care Program.

As of Monday morning, there were nine publicly-disclosed COVID outbreaks in high-risk settings in the Thunder Bay area.
