One institutional outbreak of COVID-19 is declared over

Several other institutional outbreaks remain active in the Thunder Bay district.

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has declared that an outbreak of COVID-19 at Hogarth Riverview Manor's Birch/Spruce Grove is now over.

The outbreak started on March 3.

Expanded precautions against the spread of the virus were implemented immediately.

According to information published on the TBDHU's website,five institutional outbreaks are still active around the district, including on the 5th floor at Hogarth Riverview Manor which was declared on Sunday.

Others are at the Walford retirement residence on Pine Street (declared March 5), the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's 1A medicine unit (March 12), Wilson Memorial Hospital in Marathon's chronic care unit (March 13), and the Ka-Na-Chi-Hih specialized solvent abuse treatment centre (March 15).
