One man charged following Kenora fire (4 photos)

A boathouse fire early Wednesday morning has resulted in charges.
KENORA, Ont. – One man is facing arson charges in Kenora following a fire in Golf Course Bay early Wednesday morning.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, police were dispatched on Wednesday around 8:40 a.m. to a fire at a boathouse in Golf Course Bay.

Police say they were advised that a man had started a fire and went into the bush.

The Northwest Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team and the Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.

The suspect was located nearby and arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Sheldon Waboose has been charged with arson-damage to property, two counts of break and enter a place-commit indictable offence and theft under $5,000.

The accused appeared in bail court Thursday to answer to his charges.
