It brings the death toll across the district since the onset of the pandemic to 40.

However, there was encouraging news Monday with respect to the number of active cases.

Although the TBDHU reported nine new cases – the fewest since Feb. 9 –  45 existing cases were resolved since Sunday.

It leaves the active case count at 325, the fewest since Feb. 25.

This number has now declined for five consecutive days.

Among the nine new cases, three are listed as household contact, two as other close contacts, one is at the Walford retirement home, and three remain under investigation.

There are 23 district residents receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 in the ICU.
