One person injured in Thunder Bay Expressway collision

THUNDER BAY — One person was taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision early Monday afternoon on the Thunder Bay Expressway.

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 11/17 and Red River Road.

It involved two SUVs and a tractor-trailer, and resulted in one of the SUV's ending up on its side.

Ontario Provincial Police controlled traffic at the scene until the vehicles could be removed.

There was no immediate word on whether charges would be laid against any of the drivers involved in the incident.
