For more than 20 years now brides and grooms-to-be have been heading to one place to take some pressure off of their wedding plans.

Now in its 23rd year, the Wedding Wishes Formal Wear show has been helping people plan their perfect day.

“It’s basically one stop shopping for bride and grooms to be,” show manager Nancy Milani said Sunday afternoon in a packed Valhalla Inn ballroom.

More than 1,200 people, including 300 brides, were shoulder-to-shoulder checking out everything from wedding photographers to giftideas. The highlight though is always the fashion show and a chance to win a $15,000 grand prize package Milani said.

Victoria Radtke is getting married next September. She said the show made it easy for her to plan the whole thing. And having a helpful fiancée nearby didn’t hurt.

“He’s very involved which is great. He likes to help. It keeps a lot of the stress down,” she said.

Checking out dresses, gathering ideas and checking out various decorators were just a few of the things the couple had done Sunday.

“You get to see their work in the flesh rather than just pictures. Sometimes pictures don’t do the work justice,” Radkte said.

A football fan, Jason Hamilton and his fiancée got to the show early so that he didn’t have to miss his Pittsburgh Steelers play. He said the show helped them find everything they were looking for and more.
