One woman taken to hospital following single-vehicle collision

One woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries early Tuesday morning following a collision in Fort Frances.

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – One woman was sent to hospital early Tuesday morning following a single vehicle collision.

According to Rainy River OPP, police were alerted to the report of a vehicle being driven erratically Tuesday morning just before 3 a.m. near the 500 block of Kings Highway in Fort Frances.

Within a minute, police received another report of a single motor vehicle colliding with a hydro pole on the 300 block of First Street East.

OPP, EMS and Fort Frances Fire Rescue Services responded to the collision.

A female driver was transported to Riverside Hospital in Fort Frances and she was treated for minor injuries.

Police say the collision resulted in damage to a hydro pole which caused a power outage across several blocks.

Fort Frances Power Corporation attended the collision scene and made necessary repairs.

Power was restored before 5 a.m.

This is an ongoing investigation.
