KENORA, Ont. —Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford has announced provincial government funding for improvements to recreation facilities in Kenora.

The Kenora Recreation Centre will receive an investment of almost $3.7 million in a rehabilitation project that has a price tag of $5 million.

The Kenora Rowing Club is getting $121,000 toward its $167,000 hosting infrastructure project.

Mayor Daniel Reynard said upgrades planned for the interior of the rec centre, along with improvements to baseball diamonds and tennis courts, will extend the life of the facility and its amenities, and enhance the quality of life for Kenora residents.

The work at the rowing club will increase its capacity to host high-profile events.

The announcements were the latest in a recent series made by Rickford for projects across Northwestern Ontario.
