Michael Gravelle says he has a job to do and will continue to do it until told otherwise.

The Liberal party lost two by-elections Thursday that were considered crucial tests in public opinion for Kathleen Wynne’s premiership and her party’s direction.

The party lost Niagara Falls, a riding its held for a decade, to the NDP while the Progressive Conservatives held on to Thornhill.

What that means for a spring election is up to the opposition parties come budget time.

"We'll see what happens then," Gravelle said. "I'll do what I can to make sure that the North is strongly reflected in any budget that's brought forward."
