THUNDER BAY -- The Ontario Native Women's Association has been handing out personal safety alarms for sometime, and hundreds of them have been given away in just the past few days.

Last week, ONWA gave a few hundred of the alarms to students at Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School.

The devices emit a high pitch squeal.

Maryanne Matthews is the organization's communications officer and says at least another 100 devices were given away at the community safety forum hosted by NAN this week.

ONWA provides the personal safety alarms to anyone looking for one.

You can visit the organization's website to contact them.
