OPP arrest 19-year-old after 5.5 pounds of pot discovered in car

(FORT FRANCES, ON) - On the 21st of February, 2016, at 3:20 pm, a traffic stop was conducted by members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, (OPP) on King’s Highway 11 on Couchiching First Nation as a result of an on-going investigation. 

Subsequently a 19 year old male from Emo Ontario was arrested and approximately 5.5 pounds of marihuana was located and seized.    

As a result of the investigation he was charged with Possession for Purpose of Trafficking, and Trafficking Schedule II Substance under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act, and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon under The Criminal Code.

He was released on a Promise to Appear in court on May 16, 2016 to answer to the charge.
