(THUNDER BAY,ON)- On Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at approximately 8:30 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Onion Lake Road.
The driver of a Ford Focus was driving on Onion Lake Road, lost control of the vehicle and entered the ditch. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the driver and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was transported to the detachment for further tests.
Bruce JOHNSON, 59 years of age, from Gorham Township, was arrested and charged with:
-Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
-Operate a Motor Vehicle With Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
-Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 25, 2016, to answer to the charges.
