OPP conduct drug bust at Thunder Bay motel

THUNDER BAY -- Four people from southern Ontario have been arrested after a raid on a Thunder Bay hotel.

OPP seized a handgun, cash and quantities of marijuana and what is suspected to be heroin, cocaine, crack and Percocet pills on Thursday at a motel on Munro Street.

Three men from Scarborough and a woman from Cobourg all face a number of charges.

Jeron Beckford, age 22, of Scarborough, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm, contrary to section 9(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code

Zachary Collins, 25, of Scarborough, has been charged with:

  • Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Brittney Cook, 20, of Cobourg, has been charged with:

  • Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Joseph Sinclair Stewart, 19, of Scarborough, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm, contrary to section 9(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance - Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code

The four were held at the Thunder Bay OPP detachment for Friday morning bail hearings.
