OPP continue to search for missing 16-year-old girl

KENORA, Ont. - The search for a missing 16-year-old girl last seen nearly a week ago continues.

Provincial police are asking for the public's assistance in finding Delaine Copenace, who was last seen in downtown Kenora last Saturday night and reported missing the following day.

The search, which is receiving assistance from the OPP Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, OPP K9 unit, Canadian Pacific Police Service, Treaty 3 Police, Lake of the Woods Search and Rescue and Canadian Centre for Child Protection, has expanded into the surrounding areas of Kenora.

The OPP are asking any information from the public is shared with police first before being shared on social media to allow investigators to thoroughly examine any potential leads.

She is described as First Nation, 5'10" tall, long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black Etnie skater type shoes, black zippered sweater, a “bullet for my valentine” T-shirt and black jeans with zippered pockets.
