THUNDER BAY — Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit are en route to Thunder Bay to assist in the investigation into a tragic accident that took the life of a city woman.

Kaitlin Restall, 41, was found deceased Monday morning near where the van she was driving left Silver Falls Road in Fowler Township and entered the Kaministiquia River late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Police say the vehicle went into the water at a curve in the road.

The river is "extremely deep" in that location, an OPP spokesperson said Tuesday.

Police divers will attempt to locate the van when they arrive on the scene Wednesday.

An examination of the vehicle is expected to help investigators determine the circumstances of the collision.
