OPP investigate sudden death in Kenora

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a 77-year-old Fort Frances woman was found deceased.

KENORA, Ont. - Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the sudden death of a Fort Frances woman after she was found deceased in a Kenora home.

According to an OPP media release, officers were called to a Railway Street home early Monday morning after receiving reports of a sudden death. Officers discovered 77-year-old Brenda Richardson deceased.

Police arrested 26-year-old, Trenton Richardson, formerly of Kenora, and he has been charged with assault causing bodily harm. Richardson is in custody and expected to appear for a bail hearing on Mar. 2.

Members of the OPP North West Region Crime Unit and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in Toronto on Mar. 1.
