THUNDER BAY -  Ontario Provincial Police is offering a $50,000 reward for information about the disappearance of a missing South Gillies, Ont. woman last seen in March.

Alyssa Turnbull, 26, was last seen in Nipigon between March 23 and 25. According to a news release issued by OPP on Friday, detectives have spent the last six months working to identify people responsible for her disappearance and are now offering a reward in this case.

"Alyssa was a vibrant young woman who was close with her family. We believe there are people out there who know what happened to her.  I am hopeful that the reward offered today will encourage these people to come forward so that we can bring this case to a conclusion and bring Alyssa home. It is our hope that the reward being announced today will help bring a resolution to Alyssa's family,” OPP Det. Darryl Sigouin said in the release.

Police have interviewed dozens of people, conducted numerous searches and collected several pieces of evidence, according to the release. The $50,000 reward offered by the government of Ontario is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her disappearance or information resulting in locating her.

Turnbull was residing in Nipigon at the time of her disappearance and is described as five-foot-three-inches tall, 100 pounds, shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes. She may also have changed her hair colour to purple or red, police say.

Any person with information regarding this investigation should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their local police service.
