The OPP's Emergency Response Team was called into action this weekend to rescue an injured canoeist near Red Lake.
A 51-year-old Florida man had been planning a 15-day canoe trip around Woodland Caribou Provincial Park.
But the man severely injured his knee on the first day of his excursion and had to place an emergency call to police.
Using coordinates from the man’s GPS location system, officers were able to reach him in just five hours and transport him to hospital.
