KENORA -- A Kenora Ontario Provincial Police appeal for information in the recent disappearance of Delaine Copenace continues, despite earlier this week calling off a ground search for the missing teenager.

In a release issued late Wednesday afternoon, OPP officials say the investigation into the woman’s disappearance is still ongoing.

Copenace, described as an Aboriginal woman with long black hair and brown eyes, was last seen on Feb. 27 during the evening hours in downtown Kenora. She was wearing black Etnie Skater-type clothes, a zippered black sweater and a “Bullet for my Valentine” t-shirt with black jeans featuring zippered pockets.

Efforts to locate the woman have expanded to include police, media and community partners across Canada and residents are being asked to check personal property, yards, out-buildings and any outdoor areas regularly frequented for any signs of the 16-year-old Copenace.

Anyone with information is encouraged to phone OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
