PICKLE LAKE – A pair of COVID-19 cases at the Valard work camp in Pickle Lake are under investigation by the Northwestern Health Unit.

An outbreak has been declared because the two confirmed cases took place within a 14-day period and have no obvious source of infection outside the workplace.

The NWHU says it is working with the company to investigate and ensure proper COVID-19 protocols are in place.

The two cases are self-isolating and contact tracing is ongoing.

The NWHU reminds residents of the community and surrounding area to use increased vigilance and stay at least two metres from anyone not in their household.
