THUNDER BAY - Drivers can expect some delays on a busy portion of Highway 61 as construction work will cause temporary lane closures overnight.

The Ministry of Transportation is advising that lanes in intersection at Highway 61 and Arthur Street will be closed intermittently between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. starting on Oct. 2, 2017.

The closure is to allow work crews to continue upgrades on pedestrian crossings in the area and ensure their safety while completing the work.

The work is expected to continue until mid-November, 2017. Drivers are asked to obey all traffic signage and exercise caution in the area.

For more information, the public can contact the MTO’s road information line at 511 or by visiting www.ontario.ca/511.
