Police say they found an indoor and outdoor marijuana grow operation following a search of a Terrace Bay home Friday.
Officials with the Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit say officers searched a home on Birch Crescent in Terrace Bay. From that search, police found an indoor and outdoor marijuana grow operation.
Police seized 20 marijuana plants, four grams of cannabis resin, about 50 hydro-morphine pills and $1,400 in cash.
Police say they believe the street value of the drugs seized is about $22,600.
Police charged Steve Campbell, 44, of Terrace Bay, with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of cannabis resin, possession of hydro-morphine for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.
Police also charged Shelly Smiles, 50, of Terrace Bay with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of cannabis resin, possession of hydro-morphine for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.
Campbell is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Smiles was released and is expected to appear in court on January 11, 2012.
None of the charges laid against the suspects have been proven in court.
