THUNDER BAY -- An intoxicated teen smashed into seven vehicles in a church parking lot as he allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle Sunday. Thunder Bay Police Service officers were called to the Redwood Park Church Sunday at around 8:30 p.m.

THUNDER BAY -- An intoxicated teen smashed into seven vehicles in a church parking lot as he allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle Sunday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were called to the Redwood Park Church Sunday at around 8:30 p.m. to investigate a collision involving a possibly intoxicated driver.

Police say it is alleged that a 17-year-old boy stole a vehicle in the church parking lot and smashed into seven other vehicles.

Church parishioners apprehended the boy and held him until police arrived.

Police say the boy was intoxicated at the time of the arrest.

No one was injured as a result of the vehicle collisions.

Police say officers brought the teen to the Balmoral Street Police Station. The suspect is expected to make a court appearance sometime Monday morning.

The teen has been charged with:

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Breach of Probation (three counts)
