THUNDER BAY - The PARO Centre for Women's Enterprise has received $370,000 for a project that aims to increase women's participation in politics.
MP Don Rusnak delivered the funding Thursday morning, saying the federal government wants to encourage the work that is being done for women and girls in the community.
PARO will work in partnership with Women in Politics to assess the needs and barriers specific to Northwestern Ontario.
This is one of 50 projects and over $18 million in federal funding that aims to advance gender equality across Canada.
