Pedestrian sent to hospital in hit-and-run

Thunder Bay police are hunting for witnesses to an early morning collision between a vehicle and pedestrian at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Roberts Street. A woman was crossing the intersection at about 5:45 a.m.

Thunder Bay police are hunting for witnesses to an early morning collision between a vehicle and pedestrian at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Roberts Street.

A woman was crossing the intersection at about 5:45 a.m. on Friday when she was struck by an eastbound Jeep-type sport utility vehicle. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Police remind the public that drivers involved in accidents must remain at the scene and are obligated to file a police report.
Anyone who may have seen this collision is asked to call the police traffic unit at 684-1226.
